Things are moving along with the 5th Die Hard film. Last week the title was announced, A Good Day to Die Hard. This week the recruitment of John McClane’s (Bruce Willis) son is underway.
It is being rumoured that Paul Walker (best known for his involvement in The Fast and The Furious franchise) is one of the actors meeting with Bruce Willis this week to try out for the role.
According to Total Film, other contenders include Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma, Six Feet Under), Paul Dano (Little Miss Sunshine, Let There Be Blood), Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) and Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes).
This is a mixed bunch of actors – all very good in their own right, however Paul Walker is the one that jumps off the page for me. He has the looks, has a lot of action experience, and at 39, will feel more like McClane’s son rather than his grandson (no disrespect meant to Willis).
A Good Day to Die Hard is being directing by Irish man John Moore and will start shooting in Russia in January. According to imdb.com, in this 5th installment of the Die Hard franchise, “John McClane and his son take on local forces in Russia”. It is set for a 2013 release.
