Casting has begun on the CW network’s Sex And The City prequel The Carrie Diaries.
The first role to be cast is that of Carrie’s 14 year old sister Dorrit. That role, according to Entertainment Weekly, goes to Stefania Owen (Running Wilde, The Lovely Bones).
“Dorrit is described as rebelling in the most obvious of ways: dying her hair, getting arrested, acting out. Dorrit is desperate for attention and willing to get it any way she can.” (EW)
There’s still no word on who will be playing the coveted role of Carrie.
The Carrie Diaries, will be set in the ’80s and will focus on Carrie’s senior High School years, and her life as she tries to make it as a writer in New York City.
The CW network has only ordered a pilot episode. But if the casting and the scripts are right, The Carrie Diaries could well have a weekly entry on the CW network’s schedule.
Below is a clip of Stefania Owen talking about her character in the short lived sitcom Running Wilde.
