Last night a light went out in the world as we learnt of the passing of the great humanitarian Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela may be gone but he will never be forgotten and we can keep his light shining bright.
We may not be able to have as big an impact on the world as he did but we can certainly have a positive impact on people we come in contact with everyday – family, friends, strangers, passers by. Remember your words and actions can have a bigger impact on other people than you’ll ever know. It costs nothing to smile or be kind. In Nelson Mandela’s own words, “We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right”.
This Christmas season, and in the new year, let’s practice what Mr Mandela did, let’s open our hearts and minds and let’s just be kind to one another.

Some of his greatest quotes
Back in 2000 Nelson Mandela appeared on the Oprah show. This has snippets of the interview as well as an interesting commentary from Oprah herself. Nelson Mandela was so humble that when he arrived at the show, he was shocked to hear that the focus of the hour long show would be on himself!
This is a beautiful, spontaneous, tribute from Nicole Scherzinger’s who was collecting her Ultimate TV Personality Award at last night’s Cosmopolitan’s Ultimate Women of the Year Awards.
