Golden Globes 2015: Tina & Amy, The Winners, & The Video Highlights

The Golden Globes are my favourite Hollywood night. It’s where the best of Film and Television come together to celebrate the year that was. On the whole, 2014 was a fantastic year!

Tina and Amy
No-one does a Golden Globes like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. On their third outing they continued to entertain, and moved things along as fast and smoothly as they could.

While walking the red carpet they promised to entertain and when asked about how many changes we could expect from them during the night the response was, ““changing about 50 times and there will be about 10 emotional changes!”

No-one wants this to be their last Golden Globes. Even Meryl Streep wanted them to know she doesn’t want them to go, “I just want to say, how much are we going to miss Amy and Tina!”

Watch their opening monologue which included jokes about Oprah, Reese and George.

Cecil B. De Mille Lifetime Achievement Award – George Clooney
George’s “friends”  (“We all want to be a F.O.G – a Friend Of George”) Julianne Marguiles and Don Cheadle presented him with the award

George Clooney’s speech

“Thank you HFPA for keeping small films alive. Big ones do fine but it’s the little ones that need the audience.”

“For the record if you’re in this room you’ve caught the brass ring. You get to do what you want to do and be celebrated.”

“It’s a humbling thing when you’ve found someone to love. It’s even more humbling when you’ve been waiting your whole life to find love. Amal I couldn’t be prouder to be your husband.”

“It was an amazing thing that happened today.Millions around the world marched…they said, we will not walk in fear…Je Suis Charlie.”

Benedict Cumberbatch
Benedict Cumberbatch once again provided awards highlights, photobombing and also volunteering to present an award with Jennifer Aniston.

Decide for yourself whether this awkward moment was planned or real.

Ricky Gervais
“It’s going well isn’t it?Let’s not ruin it by me saying anything.No1 wants to see me insulting rich, beautiful, overindulged people …”

He went on for a little while longer, ending with a jibe at John Travolta, when having to read out Quvenzhane Wallis’ name, “”I’ve been practicing that name because I didn’t want to have a John Travolta moment. I still watch that on YouTube. It’s brilliant!”

Hollywood Legends want to break male comedy stereotypes

About The Bellissimo Files

Hi, I’m Sarina Bellissimo and this is the place I come to indulge in my love of all things entertainment. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t fascinated by all things Hollywood/showbiz. I blame my parents! As a child my mum used to force me to watch old Elvis Presley films with her, and both my mum & dad would take my brothers and I to the Drive-In to watch the latest films (this is where my love for ROCKY began!). When not watching movies, I was trying to figure out ways to pull the back off the TV so I could somehow get into it and be a part of all the action on the screen! This blog isn’t a place that revels in gossip and negativity. It’s a place where entertainment is celebrated. That said, this is a place you can turn to for honesty. Honesty and criticism don’t always mean attacks. I choose to criticise the piece of work but not the person and I acknowledge that just because I don’t like something, it doesn’t mean someone else won’t. Here you’ll find interviews with some of the biggest names in the world of Entertainment, reviews, breaking news and my very own musings. Away from The Bellissimo Files, you can find me on Spin 1038 on Saturdays, between 1pm and 3pm,presenting Plan B. There’s celebrity interviews, entertainment news, the low down on the must see movies and music releases of the week, the ultimate guide to what’s on where in the city, as well as masterclasses with experts on standby to answer listeners’ questions. I also appear on TV3’s “Elaine” panel, talk movies on “Ireland AM” and you can sometimes hear me filling in on Moncrieff’s “Movies and Booze “(Newstalk) The Bellissimo Files is constantly evolving. Files (topics) will be added or deleted as time goes on. Feel free to read, watch, comment, share, and make suggestions for what you would like to see on the site. Sarina
